Shnier hosted its fourth annual FloorsFirst Summit at the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre on April 29
Shnier hosted its fourth annual FloorsFirst Summit at the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre on April 29th and 30th 2004. This 2-day National convention is the largest gathering of flooring processionals in Canada with over 153 dealer member stores represented and over 400 people in attendance. Guest speakers included Kimberley Seldon; Design Editor of Style at Home Magazine and host of the popular television show Design for Living, Gary Johnston, International Brand Manager for STAINMASTER, Tony Pigott and Jack Perone of J. Walter Thompson Advertising, and flooring industry consultant Jonathan C. Trivers. Speaker topics included flooring design trends, branding, and insights into what motivates the floor-covering consumer.
Shnier President and C.E.O. Ed duDomaine delivered an inspiring state of the industry address. Senior sales and marketing executives of Shnier, including Carmen Chilelli, Chris Schneider, Paul Green and Martin Wells, presented the latest Shnier products, programs, and services. The Gala Banquet featured a welcome address from company Chairman Bonnie Shnier Moncik and entertainment by Ron James, the Gemini Award winning comedian voted Canadian comedian of the year.
FloorsFirst members also took advantage of some amazing and exclusive Summit Specials. A true highlight of the convention was the brand new Shnier Showroom Advantage (SSA) display and sampling system, which is now just rolling into stores nationwide. SSA is supported by a comprehensive and well-received merchandising support program. SSA clearly demonstrates Shniers' visionary leadership in merchandising.
The 2004 FloorsFirst Summit set a new attendance record; which, judging by attendee comments is expected to be surpassed again next year.
