The History
GESCO was founded in 1938 by George Shnier, who passed away prematurely in 1962. His five brothers then assumed ownership. Leading up to the family’s exit of the business in 2007, the enterprise would go public then private, enter and exit carpet manufacturing, expand into multiple floor surface categories, further automate, diversify, expand, relocate and modernize, attracting additional talent and expertise from both within and outside the industry, all while improving operational and financial performance.

We are a floor and wall covering solutions company. Those solutions take three forms; products, programs and services. They are offered and fulfilled in multiple regions, down multiple customer channels. The company mission remains that of being a Step Ahead, a journey in itself, striving always to be more innovative, easier to do business with and more flexible with the solutions provided to its customers. GESCO is a virtual manufacturer, a value add marketer, merchandiser and logistics provider, as well as a full service seller of both licensed and proprietary brands.
